FAQ - CLADDING
Q. Does the pitch of the roof matter as to the profile selected?
A. Each cladding profile has a different shape that will affect the water carrying capacity. If you select a home with a very flat roof you have a choice of a number of profiles. Check the minimum pitch detail for each profile to find the most appropriate profile.
Q. What is concealed fixed cladding?
A. Concealed fixed cladding is where a profile uses a clip system attachment under the roof rather than piercing the fastener through the roof. This is ideal where a smooth finish is required.
Q. The house will be built near the sea, will that affect my roof?
A. There are different grades of steel available to suit different environments. If the house is to be built near a marine environment or affected by industrial areas you may need to consider using a steel product with greater protection. Once we are advised of your particular situation we can advise on an appropriate option.
Q. This house will be built in a cyclonic area - can I still use steel?
A. When building in cyclonic prone areas there is a need to be careful in the consideration of design, the selection of cladding materials, fasteners and supports. Where the design and installation is appropriate, steel is a notable option for cyclonic areas.
Q. The design has a curved roof, what profile can I use?
A. One of the great benefits of steel is its ability to be used in a wide array of designs, including curves. Profiles like Custom Orb and Spandek can be sprung curved, and for a traditional bullnose design or dramatic barrel curve Custom Blue Orb can be pre-curved to achieve impressive results.
